To the Dreamers, Back on the ground

Follow-up Note: Dare You to Dream Challenge

Oh hey there friend,

Here we are in 2026. Greetings, salutations, and Happy New Year to you.

I've been thinking about this particular group of dreamers and had planned to check in with you for months. I wanted to encourage you in your endeavors, send you well wishes, and remind you to acknowledge and celebrate whatever steps you managed to take in 2025.

Now that I'm finally writing this email... I'm no longer sure what I want to say. So I'll try this: Protect Your Dream.

Right now may not seem like the time to pursue individual aspirations or set personal goals. And if you feel that, it's okay. I'll be honest, I have done zero dreaming this winter season. Like, none. It's almost like I'm reserving my energy, storing it up for a time when it will be vitally needed.

At first, this felt so weird, a sharp contrast to one year ago when I was bursting with ideas and inviting you to make space for big dreams. But now taking a break from dreaming seems right (especially as we move from day to day in this new year).

When we ended the two-week Dream Challenge last January, the final prompt asked:

What would it look like to dream collectively?

I think we're seeing what happens when people go beyond that question. We're seeing what it looks like to act collectively. To move in solidarity with our neighbors and fellow human beings. And that feels right too.

So, while I don't have words of rousing inspiration for the future, I acknowledge the shared sense of being grounded in the here and now:

- Mindfulness to what is happing around us,

- Connection to the lived experience of others,

- Awareness of our collective bodies,

- Feet on the ground.

And I want to give you permission - not that you need it - to honor where you are in this time. What you have energy for, and what you don't. In the meantime, keep those dreams from 2025 somewhere safe. So that when the time is right you can pick them back up - maybe with some new perspective and insight - and take them where they need to go.

Much Love,

Renatta

Dear Reader, I hope this message finds you well in mind, body, and spirit. To say this present season has been . . . a lot . . . would be an understatement. How are you doing? Are you resting? Are you asking for help? Have you given yourself permission to downgrade some things that don't really need High Priority status? Permission to disengage? To prioritize you? Finding Meaning I read something referring to the transition of nature in the autumn season that really resonated with me : ...the...
